Ida Storm Recovery

Homeowners and renters affected by Hurricane Ida that live in Bergen, Essex, Gloucester, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Passaic, Somerset, or Union Counties may be eligible for assistance from FEMA.

If you have homeowners or renters insurance, you should file a claim as soon as possible.

You can apply for assistance online at disasterassistance.gov or by calling 800-621-3362. Click the buttons below for explanations of available assistance.

Warming & Cooling Center Guides by County

Quick Facts and Resources:

  • A Code Blue alert is issued whenever the National Weather Service has a forecast below 32 degrees or below a 0 wind chill.

  • A Code Red alert is issued whenever the daytime heat index is expected to reach between 100 and 105 degrees for 3 hours or more.

  • Any NJ resident can call 2-1-1 or text your zip code to 898-211 for help available 24/7 (interpreters available for non-English speakers)
