Executive Order 106: YOU CANNOT REMOVE YOUR RENTER FOR NONPAYMENT OF RENT DURING THE COVID-19 EMERGENCY.
Executive Order 128: RENTERS CAN USE THEIR SECURITY DEPOSITS AS RENT PAYMENTS
Executive Order 190: IT IS AGAINST THE LAW AT THIS TIME TO SHUT OFF ANY RENTER'S WATER, GAS, ELECTRICITY DUE TO NONPAYMENT.
Being a landlord has many benefits, but comes with much responsibility. Housing counseling services are free through this program. They provide information on a range of topics including:
Helping you understand your obligations and options as a landlord
Reviewing current COVID-19 moratoriums for property owners and tenants
Developing an Action Plan to resolve homeowner issues such as: late or non-payment of mortgage or property taxes, and other assessments
Opportunity for housing counseling and mediation services
Assisting you in communicating with your lender, tenant, etc.
Housing Assistance Programs
Help your tenants apply for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program that can help them pay portions of their rent.
To qualify, households must include at least one person who is eligible for unemployment or who has experienced a financial hardship due, directly or indirectly, to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Household income must be at or below 80 percent of the area median income.
